For its global expansion, Dotidot (formerly PPC Bee) secured a multimillion-dollar investment from Reflex Capital almost two years ago. However, with growing revenues at the international level, a makeover in the company's management became a must. And it happened.
"I didn't want to be the guy holding my company back. If I couldn't let go, thinking I was the expert in everything and not realizing someone else could make better calls, I'd be dragging the company down. I had to make sure my own ego wouldn't be a roadblock," says Pavel Vachek, the founder, talking about why he decided to step down from running Dotidot.
"It was a slow realization. I wanted what's best for my company. I educated myself, thought things through, and met founders who had already passed the torch. Then it hit me. The best thing for the company's future isn't me. I figured I need someone who can make decisions I just could not make. Solve problems in ways I wouldn't think of. Someone tougher, with a game plan and a vision," Pavel continues, now a former CEO but still the majority owner of Dotidot.
I believe the best people come from within. When we brought Petra on board almost 4 years ago, we saw her potential. Going to meetings and seeing someone who can communicate better with the team, guide the product direction and also be the face of the company outside, the choice was clear. Petra's got the vision and the energy to make things happen,” says Pavel about why he made that call.
We asked Petra about the first thing she did in her new role: "Pavel and I had been preparing for this change for quite a while. I had time to identify several issues that pointed to missing roles in the company's leadership. With the help of my colleagues, I got to fill these spots from our own crew. And guess what? It's paying off. Almost a month in, and we can already see results from these guys. And that's crucial for a dynamically growing company like Dotidot."
In recent years, Petra has led the marketing and business team at Dotidot in her role as Chief Growth Officer. You might have seen her at professional events, talking about why automation rocks in online marketing. With a background in agencies, business, marketing, and management, she definitely fits the profile of the right candidate. And she's crystal clear about Dotidot's future in the marketing game: “Dotidot will be a global solution for managing digital marketing across various advertising platforms.”
In his previous role as Senior UX designer, Simon showed us he's all about making things user-friendly. Now, as a CPO, he's not just about knowing the product inside out but also understanding what you, our clients, need. According to Simon, simplicity in using the Dotidot product is one of the main paths the product will take. It aims to be the most accessible marketing automation solution.
A year ago, Petre joined Dotidot as an external international consultant. Before that, he had been leading business teams for years. His knack for handling business deals has made a real difference. We're thrilled that we transitioned our external collaboration to an internal role, and Petre now takes the reins of the Sales team.
“As we expand, having an international sales team makes a lot of sense. That's why we recently switched up the company talk to english-only.” says our new CEO, Petra Pacáková.
Pavel Vachek used to think he had all the answers for his company. Almost every founder shares the same feeling. However, now Pavel believes that the key is to drop the ego and consider whether there might be someone better than the founder themselves for running the company. Food for thought.
